With a new baby, I didn't get a chance to leave the house much. Early in the month, Corin got his PKU test where the poke the baby's heel and bleed them. Poor little guy had already been poked so much, he slept right through the whole thing!Colds affected us in December. It began with Caelan, who passed it to Sara. Then Jaelyn got it, then Deven, and finally me and Corin. But it wasn't too severe, and the baby is finally getting over it now.
Deven and Jaelyn had parent-teacher conferences. Deven got mostly C minuses for the quarter, which is the lowest grade a teacher is allowed to give, so he's lost some TV and X-Box privileges. Jaelyn is doing pretty well.
We found a home for Phantom, leaving us with four small kittens and two big kittens. The mama cat (Frankenstein) is now hissing and fighting with all of them. I think she's mad about giving up her territory to the kittens.
The weekend before Christmas, Deven, Jaelyn and Sara spent the weekend with their cousins in Ephraim. They had a great time, and it let me wrap presents without them hovering around.
Our Christmas was pretty quiet. We weren't about to travel anywhere with a five-week-old baby. Corin got up up at 6. I was able to go back to sleep at 7:30, but the kids were ready to open presents at 8. Caelan continued sleeping until 9. After breakfast and everything, I took a long nap with Glenn and the baby. Glenn's brother David came over later in the day.
The week after Christmas, we had lots of family visit. Glenn's parents plus Glenn's sister's family and an extra niece came first. Glenn's mom brought stuff for all the grandkids (there were 11) to make graham cracker houses on Wednesday, which is a yearly tradition for her. My mom came by airplane that afternoon. By the evening, we had Glenn's two brothers as well.
